I Quit! But I’m Patient.

I don’t know who wrote that but props to them!

In this tough world of dating while at my big age, I’ve had to learn this the hard way.

Let’s be real – seeking love can be exhausting but we keep coming back for more, even when the odds seem stacked against us, because love is the most exhilarating rollercoaster ride we’ll ever experience. It’s a euphoric feeling that keeps you in a web of bliss, especially when it’s someone who means a lot to you. But as exhilarating as it is to find and be in love, it can also be nerve-wracking when you think your partner is ready for a relationship, only to find out the truth when you’re already in it together.

Imagine meeting someone who has checked all of your boxes. They’re charming, funny, good-looking, dress nice, smell good, great personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and you both just click like two puzzle pieces fitting perfectly together. You start to envision a future with them and It feels like you’ve hit the jackpot in the game of love.

But then, reality hits you like a ton of bricks. You’re officially in a relationship, and suddenly, things aren’t as smooth sailing as you imagined. Maybe your partner starts pulling away, or perhaps they reveal aspects of themselves that you didn’t see coming. It’s like peeling back the layers of an onion.

Your once perfect person has now turned into someone unpleasant, and you’re confused. You begin to ask yourself, “What went wrong?” How did you go from thinking your partner was relationship-ready to suddenly broken up and feeling like you’re back to square one.

It’s a story that many of us has written, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve been more than ready to start a new chapter!

I’ve done QUIT so many times, but I remain patient and positive in this dating world.

Why? Because I stay mindful that relationships can get messy, complicated, and downright confusing at times. Just because someone seems ready for a loving and genuine relationship ON THE SURFACE doesn’t mean they’re equipped to handle the realities of maintaining the relationship when things get tough. We both have to have strong and effective communication and the ability to understand.

The featured image says a lot! You could definitely be THE BEST thing to ever happen to someone, but if they aren’t ready for you mentally, emotionally, or spiritually, your value will go unnoticed. I’ve come to realize that unresolved baggage from past relationships plays a huge part in situations like this. They also may be grappling with their own insecurities and fears of intimacy, causing them to put up walls instead of letting you in.

Navigating these challenges together can ultimately strengthen your bond and deepen your connection, but THEY have to want to do that.

It’s okay to want to quit sometimes but never lose sight of the love you deserve and the love that’s coming and it will arrive when you least expect it. Love is patient, love is kind, and when the time is right, it will sweep you off your feet in the most unexpected way.

In the age of audio/video podcasting, I think I'm one of a VERY FEW who still "blogs". I come from that old school of personal blogging. I'm a part of a generation that still appreciates the art of expression in words. I guess that's why the passion for it has never really left me.
